I think how much risk-taking one is willing to take is really
one's choice.
Now that I'm here, I've come to realise that I was quite a
scaredy-cat last time.
I was very
cautious and didn't like to do things carelessly and then end up
regretting it for the rest of my life.
But then I learnt that humans are resilient. If bad things really
happened, what's the worst that could happen? Death? If so, you're
so dead already, you won't even realise you're dead cause... well,
you're already dead!

And if injury occurs, well, one somehow will survive and somehow
adapt. If you really cannot accept the chronic damage, then can
always plan to ... ahem... amend your lifespan.
I mean,
if really really desperate.
I believe in taking reasonable risks. Take care not to be so
careless and walk into dangerous situations, cause that'll be sheer
and utter folly and stupidity, like a sheep walking into a wolf's
den, but at the same time, don't be paralyzed by fear.
I used to fear walking home in the dark, cause well, 'dark' is
REALLY D-A-R-K here!
But these days, when I walk in the dark, I kinda enjoy the quiet
and solitude... being alone in my own space, and yet, I'm right in
the city!
Powerful feeling!
Course I'm scared of being mugged. So, I take precautions like
avoid certain alleyways, or cross the road to a more crowded /
well-lit spot when approached / followed by undesirable characters
and pray like hell, but I no longer get paralyzed by fear. I take
care, but I don't burrow a hole and hide in it no more!
